After owning it for about 1 1/2 years, I'm going to give it 4-stars! If it weren't for the cracks, I'd give it 5 stars! My issue with the table was the small cracks it came with, since the box it came in had no signs of damage. Here are some new pictures I added. I covered the cracks with some cool stickers I had... it also gave it kool look! There was no effect on the playing or other functions other than cosmetics due to the cracks so I didn't try to return it. It's been sitting in our remodeled garage for quite some time now. When not in use, I keep it covered.
The Fat Cat table is awesome! The Hampton/Fairmont 6 ft table looked JUST like this one, but it was less expensive - we returned it due to serious crowning issues (unlevel playing surface). When searching for another table, I almost skipped this one since it looked so similar to the Hathaway table (but with black instead of blue cloth)....but I read a GREAT review that explained this table did not have crowning issues.
FURTHERMORE - if you look up the two photos online and REALLY look closely (see the one I added) you'll see the FAT CAT has an added exterior "edging" around & under the table edge (look just below the silver corners and you can clearly see a 2-3" added support around the table. There might be only one difference, but the FAT CAT is CLEARLY superior, and we saw differences right out of the box. We just finished playing for the first hour, out of the box, and the leveling is almost perfect! The table plays & feels completely different to me & I'm certainly no professional.
The fact that the table can tip and the legs can be folded in is also a huge benefit for our small rec-room that hosts a lot of sleepovers and gaming.
I did buy some nicer pool cues (like most reviews state) but we like the regular size balls and have had great fun thus far. For around $300 - amazing bargain to have a pool table in our house!
***Update after one year: we still love this table, though it isn't quite as flat as it was when we first bought it. As it has been moved back and forth in our play room, not sure if this effected it but some of its levelness has diminished. Even so, it still works great with little obvious drift and our kids really enjoy having it! Great for sleep-overs and parties, the teens enjoy the table!
The table has been in my possession for a while because I wanted to use it before reviewing it. My friends and I have had a lot of fun playing on this table, and it has definitely helped me improve my game for when I play at the club. Personally, I like this table, but I haven't folded it up and stored it yet. I'm not sure exactly the best way to lean the table after folding up the legs, to keep the damages to a minimum.
More a toy than pool table. Good for banging balls.
This table rocks. During quarantine, I needed something to keep me busy. Over the past few months, I've played about an hour a day and it's been great. It's a little small for 8 ball (gets crowded), but it's perfect for 9 ball.
The surface is surprisingly flat and true. It's not perfect but after you level it with the screws on the feet, there are no obvious dips or anything like that. It is really easy to set up and take down. When properly set up, it is surprisingly rigid.
The "cloth" is just felt glued to PVC, and it's not the most durable thing. The surface was being damaged by miscues, so I switched to a soft tip on my cue.
However, you really need new balls and cues. While the table is excellent for the money, it only gets better with legit accessories. If you spend another $50 to $100 to swap these items out, you can get really serious practice in. You will definitely notice your improvement when you play a real slate table.
Overall 10/10 product.
